The last bathing season will not exactly go down as a success in the records of the abtswinder outdoor pool. In the meeting of the municipal council, mayor jurgen schulz presented that in the summer of 2017, about 17,000 bathers visited the municipally owned swimming pool. This was slightly lower than the year before. In total, this means a minus of 65 842 euros, which the municipality must bear.
Nothing new for the rate. "A swimming pool is always a minus business," said mayor schulz. Even when over 22500 guests were paid during the bathing season a few years ago, the municipality had to add around 40,500 euros to the bill.
A preliminary building application by carolin bocher for the erection of an agricultural machine hall met with little approval in the municipal council. The building in a rough of ten by ten meters is planned with a pent roof and corrugated sheet metal. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the town center, which is why the district administration and the monument protection authorities consider it to be detrimental to the appearance of the town. The abtswinder council felt the same way, preferring a rectangular building with a saddle roof and tiles.
In the meeting was criticized the behavior of a driver, who was recently in the area of abtswind active. Council member heiko darr called the resulting dirt on the road "an imposition", which later had to be cleared away again. Mayor schulz pointed out the difficult weather conditions in the past few days. The removal was hardly possible in any other way, the lumps of earth were removed again.
